Glossary of terms

The terms used frequently in Planograma, in alphabetical order.

Term Meaning
AWB Air Waybill — the shipping document/label attached to the dispatched parcel.
Receipt (bon) A group of orders prepared together (e.g. picking list, packing list).
Order A client's request for certain products, in certain quantities.
ERP The company's main IT system (e.g. SoftOne, Nexus) with which Planograma exchanges data.
FEFO First Expired, First Out — the goods that expire soonest are picked first.
FIFO First In, First Out — the oldest goods received are picked first.
Inventory The operation of counting the actual stock and comparing it with the system.
Location The physical position in the warehouse (rack / level / cell) where the goods sit.
Batch A group of identical products with the same expiration date / series.
NIR Goods Receipt Note — the document through which received goods enter stock.
Picking Collecting products from locations to prepare an order.
Packing Checking and packing the collected products before shipping.
Reservation Blocking a quantity of stock for a particular order.
SSCC Serial Shipping Container Code — the unique code of a logistics unit (pallet/parcel).
Available stock The quantity that can be sold = total stock − reserved stock.
Transfer Moving the goods from one location to another inside the warehouse.
WMS Warehouse Management System — the warehouse management system (Planograma).
